Nashville and the surrounding suburbs are home to many top performing schools in Tennessee. Davidson County and Williamson County school consistently score high on the US News and World Report annual rankings.
Despite these rankings, adequate support for providing college admission counseling is lacking for students living in Middle TN. According to a U.S. Department of Education Guidance School survey, over-stretched school guidance counselors are only providing an average of 38 minutes of college admissions advice per US high school student. The American School Counselor Association (ASCA) recommends that there be no more than 250 students to each school counselor. Most recent data available for the state of TN shows ratios nearing 400 students for every one counselor. As student-to-school counselor ratios continue to increase, the amount of 1:1 time spent developing a customized plan of action subsequently suffers.
Working closely with families, I offer individualized attention and strategy to help students make informed decisions and effectively plan the crucial steps required to apply to college. College is becoming more selective than ever, and it is important to maintain a competitive edge among the applicant pool.
My services have been provided to students attending high schools in the Belle Meade, Brentwood, Franklin, & greater Nashville communities, including Ravenwood High School, Brentwood High School, Page High School, Harding Academy, Ensworth School, Montgomery Bell Academy, University School, Harpeth Hall, and others.
