In 1980 she and Karen Davis began Davis-Kidd Booksellers in Nashville, Tennessee. By 1986 Davis-Kidd stores had been opened in Memphis and Knoxville, and in 1996 another was opened in Jackson. After 17 years of managing Davis Kidd, Thelma and Karen sold their business to another independent bookseller and went on to pursue other ventures.
For Thelma this meant becoming a Life Coach. She received her coach training and certification through the Hudson Institute in Santa Barbara, and now works with successful people who are seeking to live a well-balanced life and who want to be proactive in creating their lives.
