Topic: Focus on Spring Hill

Guest:

Rick Graham
Mayor
Spring Hill

Spring Hill Mayor Rick Graham¬ was born in Lawrence County, Tenn.  As a “military brat,” moving frequently in his youth with his family, he grew up mostly in Smyrna, Tenn., due to the Air Force Base there that eventually closed in 1970.

He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). He has worked in the food contract industry for 35 years, which he continues to do while serving as a part-time mayor.

Mayor Graham often tells the story of how, in 2006, he went to Spring Hill City Hall to complain, and by 2007 he found himself running for the Ward 3 Alderman seat, which he won. He won re-election in 2011, running unopposed. And in 2013, he was elected Mayor.

“I like to tell people to be careful about coming to City Hall to complain, as you can become Mayor,” he said.

Mayor Graham and his wife of 33 years, Alicia, have two sons: Will, who works at Community Health Systems (CHS) in Franklin, and Jon, who recently graduated from MTSU.
