Starting Salary Range $63,795 - $86,797

Job Summary: The Supervisor, Building Mechanical is responsible for leading a workforce in the maintenance, repair, and improvement of the mechanical building maintenance systems. Other responsibilities include planning and scheduling building mechanical maintenance personnel (including Building Mechanics and Plumbers), determining material needs, recording work performed by team, coordinating project work and annual testing from contractors, assigning time and material charges to appropriate account numbers, approving invoices, and ensuring safe work practices.

Essential Job Duties: 

  • Supervises and leads the Building Mechanical team to perform preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance on MNAA's mechanical systems to include: plumbing (toilets, urinals, sinks, and drain lines), fire systems, lift stations, tricherators, gate repairs, and backflows.
  • Supervises personnel to include participating on interview panels for new hires, training and on-boarding new employees, setting goals, assisting with goal achievement, providing feedback, and evaluating performance, approving leave and payroll submissions, and making job assignments.
  • Ensures personnel utilizes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follows proper safety requirements.
  • Plans and schedules maintenance personnel and materials required to support maintenance activities
  • Schedules mandatory or essential meetings and classes for team members.
  • Adheres to and enforces requirements of MNAA’s policies and procedures.
  • Encourages team to participate in work programs related to inspection, coordination, and quality improvement.
  • Leads the maintenance, repair, and improvement of the facility mechanical needs; schedules work orders based on safety, security, and time sensitivity.
  • Orders and receives material for the department; maintains spare parts, tool inventory, and building mechanical schematics/technical manuals.
  • Assists with coordinating mechanical project work activities at MNAA facilities.
  • Provides customer service to all tenants and passengers; works with major vendors of MNAA for proper service.
  • Operates within the constraints of an approved budget; participates in preparatory meetings for budget development; records work performed by team, and assigns time and material charges to appropriate account numbers.
  • Assists with the creation and revision of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Supports design and engineering projects.
  • Follows all safety regulations.
  • Maintains regular, overtime, and on-call attendance.

Qualifications: 

Required: 

  • Associate's degree in a related field OR journeyman certification OR related experience. 
  • 4-7 years of related experience. 
  • Valid Driver's License

 

Preferred:

  • Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE)
